However, exact dates were not established. The decision about the exact dates was given to the Minister of the Interior, subject to approval of the Internal Affairs and Environment Committee. The need for uniformity over the years brought on an amendment to the law in 2005, which determined the following: The move to Daylight Saving Time will always occur on the last Friday before April 2nd, at 2:00 a.m. The move back to standard time will occur on the Sunday before the tenth day of the Jewish month of Tishrei, at 2:00 a.m. The determination of the move back to standard time according to the Jewish calendar ensures that it will always occur on Saturday night between Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) and Yom Kippur.
